Re: IRON MAN SEEDS
Interstingly looking at the Ironman program online for 2017 it actually lists Drew Dunbar in its list of state placers coming to the tournament. He also just pinned the two kids from St. Eds and Wadsworth that are going with their full teams. Wadsworth is ranked 33rd in the nation and beat South by...

Strong word is that Carder is heading to 145.
If he arrives, at 145, region 4 will be stacked. We still do not know who Huntington, Spring Valley or Cabell Midland has.
Region 4 eliminates some good wrestlers for States

Agree with the open tournament for regionals and/or states! Probably should be thinking about the future and not wait until the numbers prove themselves and competition diminishes and excitement dwindles.

Re: Ethics with Talent vs Dedication
This has happened at hwt many times on local teams and feathers sometimes get ruffled. I can think of a situation where a kid has wrestled hwt for years and according to family and friends he is "dedicated" but doesn't wrestle off season tournaments doesn't do freestyle or greco parents d...

Thought 126 was halls weight? It might be. That kid floats around like a Ghost. He is 132 this weekend. With him moving around like that is he being disloyal to the kid at 132 who can't start now? I'm kidding phd and anyone else (other than vortex). Different situation; Hall is dedicated wrestler t...

Be glad your kid is healthy enough to wrestle! I would be happy if mine could participate at all this year it is his senior year and he is a talented young man. Your son may be the hardest working kid there is but he is on a team and the coach has to do what is best for the team. I hate it that you...

vortex I feel sorry for that senior. You are presenting yourself as a supporter of him, yet even you don't think he can beat out this "new talent". Hopefully his coach has more faith in him than you do. With that said, a coach who has watched a kid be a part of the team for four years, bu...

You said that he did everything that was asked of him. What did he do EXTRA? On his own without being asked? If he is that dedicated and he can't break the lineup in his weight, one weight up, or one weight down then the team is loaded or he probably doesn't belong on varsity. East fairmont and Ind...

138 in AA/A is looking like a gooooooooood weight class this season. 1. Harris/Independence. 2x finalist and third place last season. Go look at the who's who that has denied him a state title and then look at their resume. Slated for 138 this season. 2. Cook/Madonna. Runner up at 132 last season. ...

No U can’t as a senior to wrestle this year Sure you can! You don’t have to sit out a year after transferring in high school. If that were the case, Josh Humphreys couldn’t wrestle at South this year. Change of address This late in the season? I didn’t know that but don’t think his parents would do...

You tell the kid life isn't fair. Some people are blessed with talent. Wrestling is a sport where not everyone gets a trophy. It teaches life lessons. Wrestling is not a who you know or how much time and money you devote its about learning. It's about setting goals and working hard to achieve them....

Again never mind the off season practice and lifting, and helping the team then going behind kids back to see that he doesn’t wrestle varsity after season has started. I see your point too.
