Interesting....................quite interesting. I would suspect you are a Riverside fan, but knowledgeable of all wrestlers. I do not see some of these wrestlers making the finals. Enjoy next weekend.
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!
Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
No I just feel that riverside has three best heavy guys. I have seen Allman wrestle and I have seen Pomeroy wrestle. Allman is out of shape and Pomeroy is in shape and will beat him in 3rd

Personally, I do not know. Anything is possible.
However, my friend "TrueSouthFanInDupont" seems to agree with you.

Justin Allman is in shape. Prime time 2 time state champ will win it. So will Martin at 113.

Picks are fairly rational ... But nobody beats Martin or Allman. I hope Allman reads what you wrote...
I didn't check your picks vs the pairings so I am assuming your picks are Pill - friendly .

Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
Allman beat Jarvis 9-4 and Pomeroy beat Jarvis 13-0 so we'll see what the outcome looks like in Jarvis/Pomeroy match
Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
Allman also pinned Jarvis at the WV Duals on 1/31.
195 Justin Allman (PS) WBF Anthony Jarvis (RP) F 3:13
I wouldn't put too much in comparing opponents.

Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
For the most part, the wrestlers qualifying for states are pretty skilled. Allman may be a favorite to come out on the top bracket. On the bottom bracket, after Yohns matches yesterday he would be a threat as well as Doll if he is on his game and 100%, and last you have Bowlin who has proven worthy among more than WV wrestlers to be a contender to stomp out any chances of Pomeroy making semi's. 195 is going to have some good matches to the very end! Tough, skilled, wrestlers...cant wait!

Nothing is impossible at a tournament feel of surprises. I think we'll see a lot of wrestlers show out when the lights are on. I see some top guys handling business and some top guys getting surprised. So my prediction....PAIN.

Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
Many of my friends are divided on this. TrueSouthFanInDupont picks Pomeroy. TrueSouthFanInMineralWells picks Allman.
Allman will make it to the finals like he always has done before.
Pomeroy HAS to make it to the finals for the first time.
Hopefully over in AA/A, Noah Adams pins his opponent quickly so then I can watch the AAA 195 pound match with full attention.

Okay here the first five of Frank's finals
106 Jordan wood JM vs George Smith PP
113 Luke Martin Ps vs Philip Sharp Gw
120 Josh Humphrey SA vs Jasiel Kinder GE
126 Jaskson Henson U vs Austin Spears P
132 Jared Donahue P vs Will Jeffers H
I'm not bold enough to pick the champion.

Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
I read the same thing every year about Allman just because he is not flashy
but he is one of the best grinders i have ever seen in high school.
No one comes close to Allman this year in AAA.

Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
Allman still has to make it past Porter SV or Worley WW and he only beat Porter with a last second takedown. 195 will be interesting

Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
Wanted to add my two cents on the 195 class. Young Mr Allman is looking for his third title, since his first as a freshman he seems to take the regular seasons duals and tourneys with not much fire in his eyes, I can easily see why folks have the opinion he is out of shape or not a dominate wrestler, they want to compare other wrestlers or common opponents results. Allman during the season is a different wrestler, when Young Mr Allman Gets to Big Sandy you will see why he is a two time defending State Champion. He as well as the the other 13 qualifying on his team, have one mission in high school other than graduation, bring home state titles to the city of Champions.
Must give a shout out to INDY!!!!!! All I can say is WOW! Coaches, wrestlers, parents, and fans!! Praise is what you deserve for the dedication and success, would love nothing more than see INDY and South compete annually in duals, tourneys, clinics, traveling teams representing WV Wrestlin. I'm not to proud to say INDY has the Best wrestling team in the State this year, we will hopefully see you guys again next! Keep it up, Wrestlin is the greatest sport ever!
Good Luck to all wrestlers who qualified for states. You have all worked hard for this opportunity, time for the cream to rise to the top.

Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
"one mission" ? Would you rather be a individual champion on a last place team , or a non-placer on a championship team ?? Obviously a individual champion on a championship team , but only 1, 2 or 3 kids a year get to be that. Guarantee these kids are thinking about themselves 1st right now !

Cardio may be a factor in this one, mental composure might be a factor, heck, post match hypothermia might be a factor for all I know. A few years ago a young man was pretty sure that he would win his bracket and when he lost, proceeded to throw his headgear, shoes, and singlet, all in the mat side trashcan. Stood there in his underwear for a while. Safe to do that in April that year, not wise to do it the last weekend in February here in Huntington.
Good luck to all.

States is a different animal, I feel almost everyone has a chance to win it at the state tournament. It all depends on who let's the lights get to em or not. Can't wait to see all the AAA and A/AA matches this weekend. Good luck to all. And don't look at the lights!
Re: AAA 2016 State Championship Predictions
Responding to an opinion FAN1046 expressed regarding Justin Allman that has caught other people's attention, I would offer the following:
I'm not sure how many matches you have actually seen him wrestle this year, but I'm fairly certain it has not been as many as me. I have actually thought that Justin has really wrestled extremely well this year from start to finish during his matches. I'm not sure that "cardio" has anything to do with his intensity, but rather that he wrestles very controlled and confident (and sometimes too nonchalant, maybe like North Canton ). In fact, he won two very grueling overtime wins in two championship finals at King of the Mountain and North Canton, tournaments which were several magnitudes of difficulty above what the State tournament will be. His two losses this year have come to two very good wrestlers (both of whom I'm sure were gunning for him) and had nothing to do with "cardio" (also, it's not good to be too nonchalant when wrestling Noah Adams ). I'm not predicting who will win and indeed it is very difficult to win a state title three years in a row. However, I don't think that in this case "cardio" will have anything to do with it and anyone who has relied on "cardio" to win this year will likely be in trouble. Then again, I could be wrong. It has happened before that I was wrong, I think.
