Congrats to him, wished he would have went to WVU but I’m sure that’s a tough decision.

Maybe they should have recruited him and made an offer? His top 5 were Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma State and Va Tech, in no order.

WVU's new staff didn't recruit him?

Why would WVU make him an offer when they already have a 197 pounder? Also, of the five listed I would say that Wisconsin was most likely the only one that offered a full scholarship instead of partial.
Re: Amos commits
Coach Moore I’m not sure why so many of your posts have a negative slant toward Braxton. I would think that you would be focused on getting ready for another season at Indy Middle School. Your lack of scholarship information is only rivaled by your cowardice.

Nothing negative, I just don’t think WVU needs another 197 pounder.

Re: Amos commits
This is one of the main things I can not stand about this page. Here we have a 17 year old kid who made major a decision in his life. I am sure with the input of his parents. Instead of everyone expressing congratulations for him. We all want to be computer chair experts. In my opinion he could have went any where he wanted on a full ride. But GUESS WHAT my opinion doesn’t count. Congrats Braxton job well done and Congrats Mom and Dad you raised him right!

Using your logic, Wisconsin doesn’t need another 197 either. They have a very good one in Peter Christiansen.
My question to you as a coach, do you not believe in competition?
Also, your comments about Braxton and WVU are irrelevant, he was never considering WVU!

Re: Amos commits
Congratulations Braxton. You all are silly debating where he should have gone we should all be behind him and happy he will represent West Virginia at the college level. The most important thing is this fine young man will get a college education and prepare himself for his future. Good Luck in the future Amos.
Re: Amos commits
I’ve been to a Wisconsin for a football game. Prettiest campus I’ve ever been too. If you don’t mind the cold, it would be a fantastic place to go to school. Congratulations Braxton. I’m sure most people on here will follow your career closely and be rooting for you regardless of whom you wrestle for.

Nice job Braxton
Re: Amos commits
Anyone who has met Braxton and talked with him understands what a Great kid he is. Best wishes are in order. My 2nd favorite NCAA team now resides in Madison Wisconsin. Although they will soon be joined by whoever JMB signs with.
Re: Amos commits
Congrats again Braxton. Great choice.

Good thing WVU didn't try to recruit Braxton, because the Indy kid would have had to transfer or ride pine.

Uh yeah we couldn't of used a top five wrestler in HS p4p. How dumb of a comment is that. Adams would make a better heavy weight anyway. He could get to the 230 range easy and be Cassar esque.
Wish he'd of came to wvu but oh well. I wish him the best. What I do LOVE hearing is he's playing football this year. Now that is awesome. I'm sure he's having a hell of a time and south is pretty dang good this year to. I'd like to watch him play a game this year.
Glad it's not penn st tho lol or Ohio state or vtech for that matter. I could get behind Wisconsin and they're obviously in the best wrestling conference in the country.
Re: Amos commits
Have any of you wrestling fans seen what Braxton is doing on the football field for South? He was pure beast mode last Friday at Huntington.

Re: Amos commits
Congratulations, Braxton! My son and I made it a point to stick around for Braxton's state title match back in February (we had come to cheer on Anthony Carman)...he's unreal. No matter what his choice was, he was going to be successful.
I'm with Mr. Amos and Chris...there is simply no need to ridicule anybody's choice or to downplay it, particularly when A) they are 17 and B) it is their life, not ours. I've spoken to Braxton at the OVAC, he's a wonderful representative of our great state.
