Based on the intel I have received today, we can expect TWO SOLID 113 pounders to shake things up a little this season.

Both did NOT wrestle last season and BOTH will be in region 4.

Good stuff.

PS: We got a solid 113 pounder rolling into AA this season too. Region 3

The WSAZ 113 pound weight class just got more interesting today.

IT'S TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will they be wearing mask or do you have names?

They have names but I am going to let them get in a few upsets first.

Give us a hint. Are they from the northern half or southern half of region 4? You say they didn't wrestle last year. Are they freshman or did they just take a year off?

I am not privy to what they are weighing, but PHS has some talented freshmen coming up from the Middle School. I anticipate Garrett Donahue and John Martin Best to challenge for starting spots as well as Bo Moler, who wrestled up a weight class last year. I am not sure what grade Moler is in. If any of them can crack the starting lineup, they will contend for state placing. That is not to take away from returners Byrd and Ackerman, so I foresee PHS being very competitive in the light weights. That is probably who Bearhugger is referring to. Their talent is not a big secret for those who follow the sport, I just don't know their weights at this time. Thanks - Brent

One of them is probably Alec Nida from Hurricane. Solid kid who was a state qualifier as a freshman but hasn't wrestled since. He's a senior this year.

My other guess would be Josh Sinclair from Ripley. Didn't wrestle last year but was a qualifier his 9th and 10th grade years at 106 &113, respectively

These gentlemen are not who I was referring to but it is good to know about them. I heard about Donahue when I was at the Super 32. Good luck. I will watching for these dudes in Tennessee.

Huntington looked like there 113 is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

I'm not certain what weight (possibly 106 or 113) that John Martin Best will wrestle at PHS, but he's an excellent wrestler and could do well this year.

If all these rumors are true. Then there are no true "weak wrestlers" from any of the schools, in region 4, at 113. Spring Valley and Midland will likely have freshman at these spots, that may not be quite the caliber as those mentioned above, but are no slouches. Seems that's going to be the case. for almost all classes, in this region.

We are getting set up for region 4's 113 pounders to fill up the top 10 while we are hoping the other regions have at least four 113 pounders in total.

Based on some new intel I got tonight, it looks like St. Albans and Riverside have 113 pounders. This helps fill up region 3 some in this weight class.
