Just watched it in summersville. Great match. Haines beat him 5-0 (I think). Got 3 back points as patterson was trying to scramble at end.

It was 1-0 going into the third round, Patterson gave up an escape, not sure that consists of "in control" the entire match. I think Patterson made a mistake of taking down in the third, if not would've been a lot closer.

<snip> Score was 0-0 at the end of 1 and 1-0 after 2 I believe. When HAYNES got on top he was pretty much in control. He seemed to be too strong for Patterson. I didn't think HAYNES controlled the match to the point where Patterson was outmatched or not capable of beating him. I wonder if they had ever wrestled before?

Before the topic intended gets thrown way out of whack, the Haynes kid wrestled some tough completion today in Patterson, Paletti, and Taylor. He is as good as advertised.

I can say that the buzz around the mat today was simply that there was an interest in the outcome of the match. Haynes and Patterson have never wrestled because they have never been in the same weight class. There were many spectators on each side of the mat rooting for both boys.
Yes, there have been issues in the past. Haynes was respectful and wrestled well today with a good attitude and deserved first place. I don't think there was an adult disputing that very fact today.

I was there today, and Caleb won the match 6-0. We took a few kids from our team (Team Mahindra), we cheered him on! Caleb has never been anything but respectful to me. He is great with the youth in our program. He has grown up to be a polite young man. People are always going to judge the extremely talented wrestlers. Great job today Caleb. Both boys wrestled hard and had wonderful sportsmanship.

Some great matches Haynes wrestled very well, as did Patterson,Allen and Paletti. One of the best brackets you will see , everyone was very respectful.
