Question about states

Do ms wrestlers need to go to qualifier and base or does the fact that they've wrestled at a weight all year work? Do they get the 2lbs at regionals?

the must qualify at regionals to move on to the states. they do not have to have met base weight prior to regionals. so, im guessing that they must be at base weight for regionals. but, im also just guessing. I have heard some talk of wrestlers moving down for states from where they were during the ms season.

MS wrestlers do not need to attend a qualifier. All MS wrestlers will get 2 lbs at Regional and 3 lbs at States. If attending a point qualifier no weigh allowance will be given.

How do they know if they have ever met base weight? Or, is base weight basically 147 for the 145 division or 112 for 110?, etc?

If there is a reported score of them wrestling at 145 during the season then they made base at 145 at least one time. If you see someone wrestling a lower weight class that you know they did not make base for in the regular season then you can challenge it.
