Regular Season Champions, Ripley Middle School, enters Tuesday’s night 61st Annual Middle School League Championship with six number one seeds and five number two seeds. After having a banner season going 11-0 in Wood County League play, winning the Mountain State Clash Duals Tournament and the WSAZ Middle School Championships, Ripley looks to complete their season with a feather in their caps as favorites to win the League Championship.
Regular Season Runner-ups, Blennerhassett (10-1) has eight seeded wrestlers with three number one seeds. Defending Champions Jackson (8-3) has two number seeds and seven seeded wrestlers. Edison (9-2) brings eight seeded wrestlers and one number one seed. Pleasants County, VanDevender and Williamstown each has one wrestler seeded first.
Rounding out the regular season was 5th Pleasants County (7-4, 4 seeds), 6th Williamstown (6-5, 3 seeds), 7th Wirt County (5-6, 4 seeds), 8th Hamilton (4-7, 3 seeds), 9th Ritchie County (3-8, 1 seed), 10th Ravenswood (2-9, 3 seeds), 11th VanDevender (1-10, 2 seeds), and 12th Spencer (0-11, 0 seeds).
Six wrestlers are seeking their second individual league title starting with the Jackson three of Kayden McDonald, Dominic Way and C.J. Carrodus. Ripley’s Cameron Good and Cody Lawrence are seeking their second crowns as well as Edison’s Nathan Murphy.
Wrestling begins at six o’clock both nights at Parkersburg Memorial Fieldhouse.
