Just an FYI- the Boardman “Battle for the Belt” Youth Open will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26! Champions of the Youth Open Divisions (12 and under) will receive a deluxe championship belt. Accept no substitute- this is truly a first class award!
Last year’s Boardman Battle for the Belt drew 500 wrestlers, and this year should be no different. We will start on time for all sessions, and with six mats running all day, move very quickly! Expect to get 4-5 matches in three hours or less.
This tournament is truly for everyone- not only is there Rookie and Open Divisions, there are also Middle School and even a High School Division for those wrestlers whose season has ended. There is even a Masters Division for graduates who want to compete.
While this is an individual tournament, we will be incorporating a team race into this event. The top three teams will take home trophies, with an extremely impressive 60- inch trophy going to our team champions.
