Regional team wrestling?

I am hearing something about a regional wrestling team competing with other regional teams...? If so, who decides who's on the team? Does it go by who placed where during the regional tournaments? Or does the regional director for that area just get to pick who he wants. Thanks

The understanding I have is any WV wrestler can compete. On 4-9 all regions will meet in Summersville and wrestle off for the team spot. You probably would want to contact your region chair.

Ok, thanks. Wonder why this isn't being mentioned? Unless I've missed it... I haven't seen where you can sign a wrestler up for this, time, place etc...

Our region put out info on there fb page. I have checked out wvywa site and keep watchin forum, have seen nothing on it.

If it's by invitation only, then that's fine. However, I was told if two wrestlers in the same weight class wanted to give it a try, they could have a wrestle off.

I think it should be the Regional Champ and/or WVYWA Champ if one won State Tourney but not there region.

I was told by a chairperson that the wrestler could not be past the sixth grade to be on the team... So if that helps any of you.
