WV Freestyle States - Roll Call

I have had a few folks ask me if I had any "feel" for who / how many wrestlers are going to the WV Freestyle State Tournament being held on May 11th in Titletown.

I suspect quite of few wrestlers on the fence might decide to participate if they knew who else was going. I doubt many folks want to make the trip to collect forfeits, get byes and maybe only get one to two matches.

If you know who is going, please share. It is for "their" benefit.

Yeah it took too long.

I can recall a few matches and placers. 106 Samantha Miller dec a gal from Greenbrier East to win her weight. Great battle back and forth. 113 Isaac Short won that weight class. 126/132 Derek Raike won by tech over Braydon Johnson 138 Justin Bartee won this weight class. 145 Gavin Quiocho won by tech in finals. Braxton Amos won 220 by tech fall and 285 Austin Chapman won by forfeit as Louden Haga had to leave to attend a scheduled event. Braxton Amos and Austin Chapman wrestled an exhibition match won by Braxton by tech. Kudos to Austin for accepting the challenge. Edison 8th grader, Gage Wright defeated a state runner up in AA/A and state champ AAA by tech and pin to win 120. Others I can’t recall. Things moved pretty fast. Braydon Roberts and John Michael Best attended recruiting trips and did not wrestle in the tournament.

Gator, any insight which schools Roberts and Best were visiting? Would love for them to stay in-state.
