My good friend "TrueSouthFanGettingBigForFootball" shared an interesting observation pertaining to AAA.
From 170 and up, it is the land of opportunity for many new faces to the state tournament podium.
Here is the 411 by weight class in relation to returning state place winner:
170: All six state place winners were seniors.
182: One man returns, five are gone.
195: Two men return, four have moved on.
220: Two men are back, four are not.
285: Dos el returno, quatro gonno.
For trivial purposes, the word on the street is Braxton Amos could be at 195. Also on the radar is Washington's Jace Bradbury who could be at 195 or 220.
I would be getting all of the big wrestlers out of retirement for next season. If some misguided youth tells you he "wants to get big for football", tell him you need him "big for wrestling and lets go".
In conclusion, more football/wrestling trivia. Fairmont Senior's Zach Frazier has verbally committed to play FOOTBALL at WVU. He is also scheduled to pursue his FOURTH state wrestling title.

As a supporter of Girls' Wrestling, I encourage getting all girls ranging from 170 up to 285 on the mat in 2019/2020. These weight classes are truly the land of opportunity for all.

Weights 170 through 285 are also high risk for Thursday Night Vacancies (TNV) in Big Sandy. The coaches' committee and Hall of Fame should introduce legislation to have the regional tournaments wrestle to determine 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th place in AAA. These wrestlers might be needed to fill byes at the state tournament. I do recall a few weight classes used up all wrestlers to prevent TNVs at the 2019 state tournament. A great job again for those who introduced that change. Keep up the good work. I am sure the fans appreciate seeing matches and not counting byes.

Coaches should watch opening weeks of football season. Target big guys who are standing on the sidelines and tell them if they wrestle they can get a varsity letter, be a state placer maybe even the champ and have much better odds of starting in football next season.
