Re: Amos Unranked

I could also see Amos going to Hwy next year and easily AA if weight becomes an issue. He reminds me of Snyder hitting singles and doubles on guys a lot bigger.

Re: Amos Unranked

An early season loss could be weight loss issue or an injury. I have no idea that is the reason but I have seen this happen to more than a few national champ throughout their career. I don't like that you go from a 215lb weight class in HS to 197lb or Hwy. in college. At a MINIMUM I see Amos AA this...

I just saw that on Twitter. WV is near the bottom? I thought WV would be more towards the middle than on the bottom. Re: Braxton Amos at States

Agree 100 percent with Mason and I'm up in the Northern Panhandle. Enjoy the years that Braxton wrestled in WV. You may never see another at his level in HS again. He is the best that I ever saw unless someone can point out a wrestler who had a better HS career in WV wrestling history.

I have followed WV HS wrestling for 25 years and consider Braxton the best in WV HS that I have ever seen. Who in the past would be at his level or better?

Re: Another year of no WVU All Americans

At the NCAA championships in Pittsburgh I met with several WVU wrestling alumni (few were past AAs) at a party. Everyone was in agreement regarding Flynn being capable of turning the team around. They also liked the current recruits coming in.

I see WVU wrestling struggling the next few years. Recruiting new talent will be the focus, most will likely be redshirting. New coach knows Pa HS well and needs to grab a few studs to build talent around. Know matter what anyone says the top available talent is close to WVU. Western Pa! Throw in t...

Re: Wheeling Park AAAAA OVAC Champions

Makes absolutely no sense! Head to head should be number one criteria! Wasn't there a situation in the past some many years where despite Parkersburg South kicking all team's butts in the OVAC tournament, they could not compete in the OVAC duals meet because they didn't "dual" enough OVAC...

Eliminating 103 and 112 would cause the elite WV lightweights to

1. Leave WV to wrestle in other states
2. Hold back a year or two prior to HS

Re: Florida allowing backups to participate?

From Mat forum Oregon allows 2 entries per weight, and we have since at least the 1980's. Our team has had teammate state finals matches twice. Disadvantage: Like mentioned previously, rich get richer (or stay rich, in our case). We have long dynasties partially due to this. It has definitely kept o...

Re: Florida allowing backups to participate?

From Mat Forum In Idaho each team brings their #1 and #2 to district. Either or both can qualify for state. 32 man brackets at district. 16 man brackets at state. You do see finals match ups of teammates. I am personally all for this. Why shouldn't a back up be allowed to compete if they are good en...
