Gage is in Semis (semis at 11 according to schedule).
Final Brackets had him seeded #3, so won't face Welch until finals if he wins semi.

Re: West Virginia Youth Wrestling Association Scholarship
Awesome! Great way to give back to the sport!
Is this only open to wrestlers going NCAA Division I/II?
Division III are not allowed to sign Letters of Intent, although they have a nonbinding signing day form. Not sure how NAIA does it.
Regardless, glad to see the Association giving back!

Re: Ken Chertow—WVU ????
Chertow did not finish the season out at Queens. He resigned before the season was over. He does not have the experience or connections at this point to be a Head Coach at a major Division 1 program. If we want the program to improve and compete nationally, they will have to get a D1 Head coach from...

Re: State Tournament Wrestling Pill
http://www.d6wrestling.com/SeedCriterion.htm This is how PA seeds tournaments, its not that hard if you keep track of your athletes all season long. This appears to be seeding criteria for districts. I was under the impression that PA did use set brackets for individual state tournament and only ch...

Congrats to Anthony! He's a good kid.
160 at Brooke should be exciting!
Starocci should be a challenge for them.
Also the kid from Mars is pretty darn good and don't overlook Blue Mountain and Penn Hills.

Bearhugger, I see you have quoted me but then go in a different direction. I never mentioned hard work or JV. Simply pointing out the way I think WV currently handles individual sports and post season qualifying although I may not be correct. I'm not sure what the ideal solution is. If I had to pick...

Re: EF vs EF
Not sure how I feel about multiple entries in one weight class. Some states do it, most do not. But to play devil's advocate. Individual sports are different from team sports. Tennis teams seed the kids on their own team. Then separate the regional/state tournaments by seed, but not every state does...

Sounds interesting. Any concern with WVSSAC since it wouldn't be an open event? Not sure how they treat All-star events for underclassmen.

Not a bye. It says Default. So I assume it will be scored same as a pin which will give bonus points to those advancing.

AAA 145, 152, 170 WHAT?
Seen a couple of twitter posts stating WVSSAC ruled weight classes 145, 152, and 170 in AAA not going to be wrestled this weekend.
Anyone have more info?

Re: Man Oh.................Man
Fairly certain that Man's coach, Tim McCoy, is the same one that coached Man HS and Gilbert HS in the past. He's an experienced coach. He had a state runner up at Gilbert in 2005. He ran a youth team in the 90s in Logan/Man and his nephew was Man's last state place winner. His son was also a state p...

Walked in arena to sound of Country Roads, but apparently NJ protested his representing WV after representing Ohio in Cadet Duals, so he is now wrestling for Team Ohio.

Wow, their is an uninformed post. Independence and South do not protect their wrestler's records. They seek out competition and wrestle more challenging schedules than most teams almost every year.
