Re: Marshall University - Revisited
Wasn't it Title 9 the reason it got cut years age? I sure if it could happen it would be a great place to start, there are many WV high school state champions that attend there now. You would think the Archer family would push it more Robbie would be a good start for the program.

Re: AAA OW & Coach of the Year
mow Caleb Haynes with out a doubt Coach of the year Darren Gilifin. He has turned St Albans wrestling program around. But lets not forget Greg Humpheys one of the nicest men youll ever met. Josh Humphrey could be up for that award as well. But the freshman was on point. Congratulations Caleb

Re: STATE TOURNEY QUESTION
If a coach no's a wrestler has a skin condition and will not pass the skin check then he should report it and allow the 5th seed to wrestle instead of dqing the said wrestle with a skin condition.

Re: Last second weight changes?
So what your telling me is he must gain 15.1 just to qualify to wrestle 285. :ugeek: interesting He made weight. If he ate at China One all week long, he would have been cutting to make 285. Good luck to all, big and small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like the region 4 182lb heavy weight strategies is ...

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Lorea beat Slack at the Kanawha County Tournament? Why does everyone on here have it Slack over Lorea?

Re: Last second weight changes?
So let me get this straight you have a 182 giving up possibly a 100 lbs. Is there no clear path to the championships at 182-195-220 this is crazy. I hope he doesn't get hurt when one of them big boys sprawls on him. Good luck to all today and tomorrow. 285 lb. Division - Minimum weight is 197...

Re: Last second weight changes?
Whoever it is, they better make sure they follow WVSSAC rules about changing weights. They have to of wrestled 50% of their matches after their alpha date at that lower weight. They can not wait until regionals to switch weights unless their alpha date was after Feb 6th. http://www.wvmat.com/misc/a...

I say let it happen, let the WVSSAC get involved could always let them make more money. Rules are the same formats are the same. If they would approve it you would see a lot of young girls do it.

Re: Girls Wrestling
There is a tournament in Tennessee at Science Hill High School in Jonson City. They run a separate jv and girls tournament at the same time as the varsity tournament. I would highly recommend it to any team with girls. The Science Hill Girls Wrestling team has won titles.

We are looking for a location to host the tournament this year. We hosted it at Hoover last year but as everybody knows Hoover is closed down due to the flood. Elkview is not available because of other events going on that day. I'm trying to contact other Kanawha County schools to see if one of the...

I wouldn't count out the Nitro boy at 170. He place 4th at the states last year AAA. He's looks pretty good this year! I know he isn't from south but he may make the finials.

Both boys from Nitro will make some noise in the state this year. Frampton and Devaney at 170 this year place 4th at states last year AAA as a sophomore. Both young men are among the hardest workers I have ever known. Good luck to both of them this year
