I saw a commotion in the stands at states. I was told it was a mom from Intensity wrestling and a mom from Cougars wrestling that got into a fist fight. Guess they don't call us the hillbilly state for nothing! Stay classy folks!

I like the idea of a split session as well. That would take care of several issues.

Several mats being empty throughout the day is not efficient. Period! When you have over 1k wrestlers being efficient is critical. Kids were wrestling near 10:00 at night on day 1. Thats a problem. I agree. Not allowing the on deck match to be by the mat ready to go and announcing every match is ridiculous! Nobody wants to hear a guy on a mic all day long. Slows everything down and gives me a migraine at the same time. How are they not better than this by now?

So 5 out of 8 mats not being used and announcing each kids name to wrestle is the most efficient way to run a state tournament I guess?? Junior States here I come!

Nobody submits the results. Once they make their money they are done. I tried to get the clarksburg results. At least they're consistent. Crappy all the way around.

Shouldn't the regional champ and 4th place from that region be on the same half of the bracket while 2nd & 3rd place from that region are on the opposite half? All of the brackets I have looked at have the regional champ and 3rd place on one half while 2nd & 4th are on the other half. Wow!!...

Whats the numbers on kids who attended regionals? I know not all of them will be attending states but most will be. I heard over 300 in one region and around 200 in the others. That would be 900 to 1k kids. Is that accurate?

Thanks for the info! I still think head to head competition should trump regional results as far as seeding goes. Regionals should be more for qualifying purposes rather than seeding purposes.
