You know what is harder than any of these tournaments?
Apparently following directions!
I believe the original poster asked for tournaments that any team can get in and specifically said no conference or regional tournaments.

Re: Teams Attending
In another post, It says that George Washington will be attending the South Classic. Above it says they will be at the National Guard Duals. Which is it and why the confusion? I had heard they had committed to wrestling at Douth Classic.

Re: Tough openers
They say "iron sharpens iron". Sometimes it is "iron beats off the rust". I do recall seeing many scores last season. When South went across the border, I recall a few dual matches where Lambiotte and DeLong were the only winners. Allman was out with his knee. Lambiotte and DeLo...

Re: Background checks for coaches and refs
I don't usually agree with MaleMatMaid but today is an exception. It's been verified several times that coaches go through background checks so this sounds like rumor spreading. I really hope you don't go and ruin someone's day over rumors.

Fairgame it sounds to me like you might be trying to stir the pot a little. I'm sure if you had real reason for the concern and safety of the kids you surely wouldn't be expecting any action to be taken on a forum. Here we are two weeks in and you want to cause trouble already.

Re: Background checks for coaches and refs
Coaches go through a process which include background checks before they are approved by the board of education.

WV USA Wrestling
After the announcement by Rob Archer that he was stepping down as the state chairman, I asked a question about the inner workings of the organization and how people get appointed to their positions. I know of several people who would be interested in being involved at some level but I received zero ...

How is the chairman position obtained? Is there a vote? How are coaches picked?

Re: Parkersburg South All Americans
Maybe so diamond but little Timmy Asskicker's 90 year old Granny would never have her birthday party on a Sunday because the weekends are for wrestling tournaments.

Re: WV Duals
Used to be a good tournament with a lot of competition. I wonder if it's not happening because so many wv coaches refused to support it.

What's more surprising is that The Bear was there but he hasn't reported on it. There must not have been much to see.

Re: Cadet Duals
What a shame more kids aren't interested in this tournament. For any kids going to Fargo, this would have been a great opportunity to see what kind of competition they will face later in July. Of course, maybe that is why some coaches didn't encourage the participation.
