AAA 160 - Unlike Any Other

Postby Bearhugger » Mon Feb 20, 2017 11:18 pm

The AAA 160 pound weight class is unlike any other weight class in the entire state tournament. Why might you ask???? I will tell you why.

1. This weight class has a high powered regional champion coming from each of the four regions.
2. These four horsemen are on a collision course for the possible best semi finals of the tournament.
3. Cameron Pine/Washington is undefeated.
4. John Nash/Wheeling Park and Michael Milam/St. Albans are both undefeated inside of West Virginia.
5. Drew Dunbar/South was third in the state tournament at 160 last season.
6. Cameron Pine was 5th last season at 145. He had defeated the eventual 145 pound champion the previous week in the regional finals.
7. Nash missed the state tournament last season due to illness. I believe he had been ranked 2nd all season in 2016.
8. Milam missed the state tournament last season due to taking the entire season off.

I know who My Money is on.

This is a class I'm looking forward to watching. My pick is Milam. He has came back this year looking hungry and strong. His WSAZ championship over a Kentucky State champ was quite impressive. I'm know how good Pine and Nash are but I've watched Milam since youth league and when he's focused he's hard to bet against.

I've seen all of them except John Nash this year, but I saw Nash win the OVAC Championship last year impressively.

I was impressed with Milam vs Dunbar at South about a month ago and Pine impressed me winning the Winner's Choice. Dunbar has been wrestling well and it all makes for a great tournament.

Hard for me to pick a winner here.

Update:

Nash, Pine and Milam all three pinned their way through their regional competition.

Dunbar had to go through the mini state tournament (aka region 4), thus he had to go the distance.

As hard as it is for me to say because of attitude displayed sometimes, I would bet Pine walks through this tournament. He is a tough kid..

Pine will NOT walk through Milam !!!!
Cameron Pine intimidates many of his opponents with his antics on the mat. Although Pine is legit, Milam will surprise him when they meet head to head.
No disrespect to Nash or Pine. But, my money would go with Milam if I were a gambler. Good luck to all !!!
