Re: Finals Results
Shaun Smith has been coaching as an assistant at South for the last four years. So "inherited talent" is not relevant.

Re: Finals Results
First and foremost, I want all you South fans to know I am with you on this one. Second, Archer did have a few kids up their game at the regionals and state.
I have questioned numerous coaches of the year selections in the past and wondered the logic. However, I easily forget about it because I focus on many other of aspects of the sport more.
When did Bill Archer stop coaching? It wasn't last year. Rob hasn't inherited anything. Maybe he did the year after his dad moved on, but that comment needs to be buried. Bill was the coach in my day. I see big differences in the program today. Bill coached Chertow. Rob (and all other coaches) have wrestlers who attend Chertow's camps. Bill's teams did push ups, sit ups and squats BEFORE EVERY ROUND to warm up, every week, at every tournament. Today's kids (all teams) would have cardiac arrest if they did that. Its no wonder most teams have few wrestlers.
Now back to South. You guys are the victim of being on the wrong end of a popularity contest.
